How to change your workspace background image or the tab colors?

Notes V10 allows to change the way your workspace looks by changing its background image. Of course, you could previously change the tab colors so this is still possible.

In one of the next releases you should be able to move tabs around by drag & dropping them.

This is how the standard workspace looks like in V10.

Admitted, the choice could have been better for the background image as well as for the default tab colors.

However, changing those is really simple.

Changing the background

Once your are on the workspace, perform a right click and choose either:

  • None
  • Choose…
IBM Notes V10 - Right-click background
IBM Notes V10 – Right-click background

None” gives you this:

IBM Notes V10 - workspace without background
IBM Notes V10 – workspace without background

Choose…” allows following image formats: .PNG, .GIF, .JPG & .BMP

Changing the tab colors

Nothing has changed here from previous versions. Just right-click on any tab and choose “Workspace Properties” (you may also note that you may add or delete a given tab via the same menu):

It will open up a color picker for the selected tab as well as the option to change its label (“Page name“):

As a result, playing a little with both options could give you something like this:

IBM Notes V10 - modified workspace

That’s it for now. Stay tuned!
